Everybody is different, and we understand that, if you're a lighter skier or just love that knee to the ski turn, we've developed a softer and more responsive spring to customize your new bindings to your turn. Four pre-buttered springs and improved spring plugs are included.
These springs are 30% softer than our standard spring. They will give you a lighter feel, quicker lead changes, and allow you to flex your bindings a bit further. Check out this nerdy graph:
NEW FOR 2019: We did a ton of precision engineering analysis and design to optimize the toe area for this year to make them even stronger with better energy transfer.
If you want to make the switch from 75mm "duck bill" to NTN boots, simply unbolt your BMFs from your switch plate and send them to Bishop HQ. We will install the new toe as well as perform a full binding inspection to repair or replace any worn parts if needed. We then lather on a layer of Binding Butter, and complete a full tune up of your bindings. They will be ready to soar like a fighter jet with grace and style.
We recommend that you send them to us , although we do understand that there are certain circumstances that will make that difficult, so In those cases we will offer the parts to ship. Unless you are a do it yourself person with mechanical skills, we suggest letting the experts take care of it.
NEW for 2019, we've added a 90mm brake width. Bishop telemark ski brakes can be easily installed or removed with two screws that hold the brake cover in place on the binding (extra screws included). Four brake sizes to choose from to fit your rig. It is possible to bend the brakes out or in a bit for a ski that is a few millimeters wider or narrower than the brake, to get the brake as close as possible to the ski edge without interfering.
Bamboo is an amazing material with the tensile strength of steel and a compressive strength greater than concrete. When cut to the length of a ski pole, the species of bamboo that we use provides the perfect combination of rigidity and flexibility so it wont snap or kink like aluminum.
That's why we're offering a Bishop Bamboo Pole. Take you're pole plants to the next level, and stand out in the lift line, with some signature Bishop Sticks!
If anything is better than duct tape it is these 20" long by 3/4" wide flexible straps. Made of tough stretch polyurethane and a hardened aluminum buckle, they have many uses. Sold as each.
These straps are used mainly to hold your skis and bindings together. While carrying your skis, the Bishops can pivot freely and mouse trap your fingers or give you a good smack in your gaper head. Don't be that guy. Look steezy and strap 'em together nice and neat.
Keep this strap in your pocket when skiing as it can be used for many purposes - McGyver style. It's held a broken boot together on more than one occasion. You should always carry a few of these straps when travelling in the backcountry or sidecountry: A-frame skis on your pack, fix a pesky climbing skin, hold your shovel and probe together, the list goes on...
Keep your Bishops running smooth and fast with our low temperature grease specially formulated for snowy cold conditions.
Bishop freeheel bindings are a precision piece of equipment, and needs a little maintenance love every so often. This low temperature grease is used on the Main Springs, Touring and main pivot of the BMFs, and on the Bishop 2.0 at the main pivot and bolts that attach the Heel Bail to the Heel Pad. In addition, it can also be used on the outside of the Main Tubes in very cold conditions to reducing icing. You can also spray a little WD-40 on the tubes to drive out moisture and reduce icing on very cold days.
This allows you to set-up a second (or third, fourth...) set of skis to accept a single pair of Bishop originals or 2.0s. So if you want to rig up a different set of boards as conditions or your mood changes, you can swap a set of Bishops from ski to ski in about 5 minutes with a 5mm hex key. No need to have a pair of bindings for each set of skis!
