Sarah Carley, 18 made the US Telemark Ski Team in 2012 after a 2nd place overall finish at that seasons US Nationals. Since then she has competed at races all over the US, including the 2014 World Cup in Steamboat Springs, CO with a top finish of 5th in the Women’s Parallel Sprint.
Sarah started skiing at Waterville Valley, New Hampshire and grew up alpine racing and skiing every weekend until the auspicious day when she saw her first telemark skier from the lift. At only 8 years old, there was no equipment built to fit a small foot, but by the time she was 10 she set out in old leather boots, straight skis, and rusted metal bindings. She has never looked back.
Carley is stoked to join with Bishop Bindings after trying them for the first time at Mad River Glen in 2013. She loves the lateral rigidity which is exactly what she needs for her racing in order to drive the skis forward into each turn. She is also excited about the rocker launch elimination, a solution to the skis separating from her boots when jumping.
